Despite the fact that the organisation had designed a strict safety protocol with the help of health experts, the Cabildo of Lanzarote has finally refused permission to hold the triathlon event due to the current pandemic.
- The IRONMAN 70.3 Marbella scheduled for October 25th goes to April 25th 2021.
- The IRONMAN 70.3 Barcelona, scheduled for October 4, will be moved to October 3, 2021.
- The IRONMAN Barcelona scheduled for 4 October will be moved to 3 October 2021.
- The IRONMAN 70.3 Alcudia Mallorca will be switched to 8 May 2021.
The Club La Santa points out that this decision has been taken "from responsibility above any other reason". "The safety and health of anyone involved in the event is our priority. We want the best event to take place and the best experience for the athlete and the spectator, so in view of this we are forced to postpone our events from 2020 to 2021".
